The 7 Steps

SKINCARE - the whys, the hows and whens detailed below in our 7 step guide to amazing looking skin:

Step 1: CLEANSER
Your cleanser does an important job - it sloughs away dirt, impurities and can even remove your makeup. So, of course, you need to be using enough for it to do its job properly. But using too much can dry out your skin as too many natural oils are stripped away. Whether you prefer a gel, cream or balm - you ideally need to use a dollop the size of a 50p piece for each cleanse (we recommend double cleansing)
How often: Twice AM & PM

Step 2: TONER
Face toners should be used immediately after you have cleansed your face, but before you apply any oils, moisturiser, or sun cream. This is because it helps to further cleanse the face by removing dead skin cells, and it's beneficial properties, such as balancing out the pH levels of the skin, work towards keeping your skin happy and healthy
How often: Every AM & PM

Step 3: EXFOLIATE
Simply put, exfoliating helps to keep your skin silky soft and smooth by buffing away and removing dead skin cells. Your skin naturally sheds dead skin cells every 30 days or so. When this happens, new skin cells form the top layers of your skin. If those dead cells don’t shed, it can result in dull, dry and flaky patches. recommend exfoliating your skin twice a week as part of your weekly skincare routine. Exfoliation is all about balance – whilst it’s important to buff away dead skin cells you also want to take care not to strip away too many of your skin’s natural oils. By maintaining a twice-weekly exfoliating regime, you can keep dry, dull skin at bay without stripping away those necessary natural oils
How often: Twice a week

Step 4: MASK
Should everyone use a face mask? Absolutely. Both women and men can benefit significantly from using a face mask product. They’re not just for beauty: they’re the perfect treatment to help you with your skincare concerns. Face masks are commonly used for: - Hydrating and moisturizing the skin - Removing excess oils - Improving the appearance of your pores - Pulling out impurities - Helping reduce signs of aging
How often: Twice a week

Step 5: AMPOULES
Ampoules are hermetically sealed (which means they’re airtight) individual shots of highly concentrated skincare. The super-charged formula is preserved inside the ampoule until you snap it open (which is such a satisfying feeling, BTW) and apply it to your skin
How often: Every AM & PM

Step 6: SERUMS
Serums follow on from ampoules. They are less potent but provide a topical addition to your skincare routine and allows you to add the final layer before sealing with moisturisers. Your choice of serums play a fundamental role in your skin’s overall health and appearance. Different serums get different outcomes. Choose one that works with you towards with your skincare routine Serums should be used as the final step before the moisturiser
How often: Every AM & PM

Step 7: MOISTURISERS (including a UV protector, blue light blocker or SPF)
Some skincare separates the blue light/UV/SPF but we don't! All arcaya moisturisers include a UV & blue light blocker so there's one less step to worry about! If you are wanting extra protection take a look at our SCREENAGE range designed especially for this purpose.
The top layer of skin is made up of dead skin cells. Just beneath this layer is where the skin stores water. But when your skin isn’t holding onto enough water, it looks and feels drier, and it loses its elasticity That’s where face moisturiser comes to the rescue. The moisturiser both locks active ingredients from ampoules, serums and water into the skin leaving you with radiant and most importantly, a skin barriers to protect you against the elements! One thing to remember is to choose a moisturiser with UV protection, blue light blocker or SPF to protect you from that nasty environmental damage and the sun's rays to keep your skin youthful and that collagen and elastin working at full to keep those wrinkles and lines at bay!
Remember, prevention is better than cure!
How often: Every AM & PM
